Not impressed, 1.23.2010 Reviewer: Robert (Reston, VA) I bought the ST-100 hoping that it would do better than my Remington MS2-290 foil shaver which I was trying to improve on. I must shave every day and sometimes twice a day to keep the stubble down. After one week of use the ST-100 does not shave my beard hairs well at all and it is also very noisy. I do not expect it to improve. Also, the cutter head does not come off evenly or easily to clean. I plan to return it and buy another Remington.   not as good as a Braun, 12.20.2009 Reviewer: Alan Birnbaum (Fresno, CA) Having used three different Braun models over the last ten years or so, after changing over from a Norelco, I find the SUIRC ST-100 rather a disappointment. Fully charged, it does a good job, but, the BATTERY LIFE seems to be about HALF that of a new Braun. The difference likely is that Braun now uses higher-capacity NiMH cells, whereas this model doesn't specify what it contains, and they are almost certainly older, lower-capacity NiCad cells. That also means that it is not a good idea to do a partial recharge of the unit, such as before a weekend trip. I find its POWER SWITCH less convenient than the Braun. As well, the current Braun fits more comfortably in one's hand. The TRIMMER is adequate. Beyond that this shaver is NOISY, both to my ear, and that of my wife. If you need to get up and shave before your spouse, I would consider a different make. While the basic unit is reasonably compact, its frequently-needed CHARGER IS NOT COMPACT. In fact, I had been hoping that it simply had a cord, like my original slim-line Braun, but instead the ST-100 has a bulky external transformer whose blades do not retract, making it problematic to pack, even though the shaver itself is more compact than the Braun, which goes inside a formed plastic case. What this model needs is an UPDATE, replacing the NiCAD cells with NiMH, improving the soundproofing, and making the transformer integral to the shaver body...and ST-101 could be a LOT better, and likely at a price only another $10 more.   Powerful Machine!, 8.26.2009 Reviewer: Michael Hutch (Telford, MI) In my 50+ years, I do not think I have ever used such a powerful shaver before this one. I have been a Norelco man most of my life because my father was an original Norelco man, but now that i've used this shaver I will never go back. Besides, Norelco is not what it used to be anymore with the garbage they are putting out now.
